My God.

This last week has been crazy, I haven't had time to breathe let alone write a blog!

Last friday I really thought I had the weekend made but of course there was that bombshell about the gig I have to photograph! Of course I couldn't say no to that ;). It was for Love Music, Hate Racisim. It was pretty dark, I had never shot for a gig before, I didn't have my shit hot DSLR with me (had to use a Fujifilm, argh!) and I was going by myself. It actually turned out to be a pretty awesome night and my shots weren't as bad as I thought they were gonna be! (see below) I got a backstage pass, free booze and free food which was an excellent perk to the job hehe :) the bands they had on were pretty good too, my kinda thing which made the night even better.

The best part of my weekend had to be Scarefest at Alton Towers thought. Holy crap is it scary! We went on all the rides, as you do (I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie) and they were amazing as usual but they had 13 in the dark which was pretty cool because they had people hiding in the queue dressed up and they would jump out at you and it's pretty crazy. The worst one though was this Terror of the Towers or whatever and my god it was scary. 10 of us went and all 10 of us almost shit our pants. We waited in the queue for like an hour and half but it was so worth it; it would recommend it to anyone but I'd be a bit careful because it really does frighten you. It's one of those live show deals where they jump out and scare you but they have so many twists along the route, there is no way you can predict them - it was just awesome and made everyones day. The fact that the park is open til 9pm (we didn't actually leave til 10!) makes it all the better because Rita in the dark was also something worth a go - I've included a photo of my friends for your amusal :)

Sunday was pretty freakin' sweet too I have to say (now you see why I haven't had time to write all this before!) we went to see a guitarist called Joe Satriani and he was just as good, if not better than the last time I saw him. Him music is great and he plays so well. He plays the guitar with his tongue and stuff and it's just so impressive. The only thing that let the night down was that you could look around the whole theatre and people were just nodding their heads gently in appreciation but NO - the people in front of us had to be on some sort of date and there was lots of talking and lots of smooching which meant we had to move our heads all the time in order to see the action on stage which was infuriating really lol.

Since then I've had a cold (from standing in the freezing cold at Alton Towers without a jacket) and I've been working and at uni and stuff but it's generally been a good week and I have far too much to write about lol. Although I do have to give a special mention to this book I just finished reading. It's called 'e' by a guy called Matt Beaumont and it's literally just a book of emails from inside an advertising agency over a couple of months but it was so entertaining and well put together and it's a great insight into how the inside of agencies operate - it really is worth a pick up even if your not into the industry like I am.
Anyway, I guess I've bored you enough now ;) so I'll sign off and report back tomorrow.

Cya!
